"Sure Beats A Desk Job"
"Sure Beats A Desk Job” by Jerry Anderson depicts the new Raytheon T-6A Texan II, pulling up into the inverted portion of a "loop" maneuver. As the newest training aircraft in the U.S. Air Force, the T-6A represents a high-tech, cost-effective solution to the role of primary pilot training, the first step for future pilots into the world of military aviation.
Since its introduction into the Air Force Aerospace Education and Training Command (AETC) inventory in May 2000, the T-6A has been quickly replacing its predecessor, the venerable Cessna T-37, offering a state-of-the-art glass cockpit environment and significantly lower operating costs. The Texan II has also been placed in the primary training role for the US Navy under the JPATS (Joint Primary Aircraft Training System) program, fulfilling the goal of creating more commonality and efficiency in the military procurement system.
The Texan II is actually based on the Swiss-designed Pilatus PC-9, modified to US requirements and built under license by Raytheon Aircraft Co. With its extremely nimble flight characteristics it has proven to be very popular with pilots, which inspired the title of this print...who wants to work in some cubicle, when you can be doing THIS for a living?
This fine art print is unique in that it has been digitally modified to reflect the tail markings of any T-6A squadron. Each print is suitable for framing.
